Ekapadaprasaranasana: The One-Legged Balance Pose

What is Ekapadaprasaranasana?

Ekapadaprasaranasana, derived from Sanskrit words "Eka" meaning one, "Pada" meaning foot, "Prasaran" meaning extension, and "Asana" meaning posture, is a standing balancing pose that requires the practitioner to extend one leg forward while maintaining stability on the other leg. It cultivates physical and mental equilibrium, inviting practitioners to find harmony amidst movement and stillness.


Instructions:

Inhale. Take the right leg back and place the knee and the toes on the floor.



Bing the left knee infront of the left armpit. 

Press the abdomen properly. Now bend the neck as far backwards as possible throwing the chest out. 


Look up hold the breath. 



Precautions:

Ankle or Knee Issues: Approach with caution or avoid if you have ankle or knee injuries.

Vertigo: Individuals prone to dizziness or vertigo should practice near a support or avoid if necessary.

Recent Surgery: Avoid if you have undergone recent surgery or have any other contraindications.
